I'm kind of hoping it ends with the MC's death, or that his health deteriorates even if he does find a way to survive.
Too many of these lack any tooth and just have the MC overcome any obstacle, just because they're the MC.
It'd also make sense why he's known as the "Little Hero", and not just a hero... y'know... because he died young (or becomes unable to be a hero anymore)... :thonk:

I clicked on this story because of the r/manga subreddit, organized my tabs so I'd read it early since it's new and I have no expectations. Did some work and now I'm spending a bit of reading.

Completely forgot about the title. Feels like I'm going in blind with no expectations because enough time has part and I always choose to not read the genres or description if it's avoidable.
I let title and clickbait with the curation of fan scans determine if the story is worth a full read when it's time to read.

This felt heavy, in a good way.

I like that his family's cruelty is not over the top, but born out of not caring about him. It stings more than standard evil family scenes from this sort of story, because it feels more real.

Curious to see if they ever show up again... Some punishment for them would be nice as a reader, but I kind of feel like they wouldn't give a second thought to him vanishing or news of his pending death.

A very solid start!

You know, I know what the father had done base on the first chapter but I don’t feel like he outright hates him. During the part when he is announcing his departure, when he was saying all the negative trait of himself you see that the father yells at him to stop it. This isn’t enough to convince everyone but what I can see that there’s a glimpse of him actually caring for his son. My guess the reason why we don’t actually see this is because the influence of the second wife and the fact he’s the head of the house, meaning that he has a lot of responsibility and can’t show any signs of weakness. This is no excuse for how he has treated his son but I hope that this gives us as the readers to see more layers on the father and many more characters to come.

These stories do scratch some sort of itch for me but this certainly feels like one of those premises which requires one or more adults to be absurdly stupid or evil to reach this point.

The author seems to be trying to hint at some hidden motive for dad's actions but it's exhausting when every story nowadays tries to extract more meaning out of a hero's rise by first pummeling them into the ground.
