i know this sounds psycho but i probably would have killed the girl too, theres literally no guarantee she wont yap about you and if the hunters know there was someone with ill intent in the mountains the hunts would be even more vicious

She treated him as a fellow human in Japan, and Yukishiro saved her for reasons unknown. It's a bit difficult to kill something your adopted child wants to keep alive, even after you decided to let your violent neighbour have their way with it.

Also worth noting that those snow leopards seem to have really good spiritual insight. I'd trust that after having been given life by them.
