The women themselves have bigger roles and aren't just there as a joke or love interest. In fact pretty much all named characters that Vandelieu comes across gets something to do and isn't just -"harem member #69" or -"inconsequential NPC #420".

The real change is, MC is not just "surviving" anymore - he is thriving in his new environment.

@Kaarme - the basis of this strategy is that ghouls are just more powerful than most opponents. Ghouls and are naturally rank 3, compared to rank 2 kobolds and rank 1 goblins. And advanced ghouls like Zadiris and Vigaro are up to rank 5.
And they have good gear too. So even if they don't have advantage in numbers, it's a winnable fight.
And a surprise attack is almost as good as an ambush.
