My interpretation of it is that when a woman is pregnant, you could make the argument that the baby is attached or considered dependent on the mother. In this oneshot, the girl clearly has a dependecy on the douchebag, from well him abusing her, making her pay his debt. She was attached/dependent on him. As shown right at the beginning, clown girl said shes going to see her boyfriend, even though he doesn't view her the same. There is a clear imbalence. The blood you can argue is symbolically representing her freedom from him and being able to move foward. You can look how often women are not sure if they are pregnant, they often wait and see if their next period comes. Her getting her period is her finally being freed from douchbag.

The other guys have a point, but it also could meant two completely different things.

1. She was a middle schooler that just got her first period. She has become a woman worth of a new life.

2. She just aborted a fetus. Turning on a new leaf let her be free from the shitty life she had been living, and thus can truly live a new life
