Did they ever mention how they make anti youkai power talismans? And does a doppelganger even count as a youkai? They did specifically point out that they aren't native to Japan, so what makes a youkai vs demon vs monster vs etc, and which groups do anti-youkai powers work on. I guess spirit powers are a catch all?

probably similar to the shikigami in ch92, writing + intent + maybe some inherent energy from the creator/user?

i have a short tl note in the last part of this post about the terms surrounding "spirit energy", but the gist of it is :
"spirit energy" is "you-ryoku"
"youkai magic" is "you-jutsu"
"you" being the same as from "youkai", so like "youkai energy" and "youkai technique", but not as restrictive in jp as the concept of "youkai" is in english.
and haruaki's power is just called "exorcism power", nowhere as specific as "anti-youkai power", idk why yenpress went with that

"monsters" are just also referred to as foreign youkai, so it's probably just a case of them being called different things in different places (double checked, the jp does say "foreign youkai")
since gods are a separate thing, maybe demons are too....? but the word "demon" gets kinda interchangeable with "monster" and "fairy" so they might be the same sort of beings as youkai too

and are gods even their own separate thing? considering gods can become youkai, humans can become youkai, humans and youkai can interbreed, haruaki's exorcism power (which is said to drain spirit energy) works on gods too, there might be less difference between the three than the gods like to act like there is.
