those starter had to search specific thing, hence they they are bricks in your hand. not to mention you have to play them to sizebale amount yet you didn't want to draw them. at most you only want 2 of them in your hand. it's literally garnet the deck.
The deck has only 1 soft garnet, the problem isn't that the deck is bricky or draws garnets, it's that the deck consists almost entirely of normal summons. Garnets are cards you don't wanna draw because they stop your combo, so unless you literally draw every single target, it's not a garnet, especially since you should be on multiple level 3s (Birdman and Magma), multiple level 4s (Undine and Turbo), multiple level 2s (Overseer and at least 1 Turing), and maxed out on the lvl 1.
They're more like bricks. That said, every "brick" is also a starter, and it doesn't matter how many you draw because the deck has 0 extenders if Controller gets imperm'd or removed anyways, or even if you get Ash'd without Birdman, so it's actually quite rare to brick with Genex. You play like 17-20 starters after all. Like, yeah, most of your draws do nothing, but that's because the deck is all starters, no extenders, not because all the cards do nothing if you draw them. Like yeah, you can brick on handtraps and cards to ensure Controller resolves, but by that logic, full powered Ryzeal is bricky.
You're also wrong on Fire King, the deck has a ton of bricks if you are playing all the names (which I assume he is considering he's on freaking Echelon). Barong, Echelon, Old Garunix, Arvata, New Garunix if you don't have a starter, Sky Burn, Circle, and God forbid if he's on the lvl 3 Garunix, Yaksha, or Rangbali, or small Kirin, which he may very well be considering it wouldn't be anywhere near the most questionable deckbuildling we've seen from this manga.
