I don't understand these thugs. They get a frankly absurd amount of money for doing virtually nothing, and the dad says he might be willing to pay them more for similar things later on. But instead of waiting for the next generous offer, they... kidnap a high school kid?? If the dad had told them that was all and he wouldn't need them anymore, it might make sense for them to want to instigate something to get the dad to pay them more, but this is just stupid.
