ngl, that part with the fanclub cornering her and then the chase, it looks very poor, like, they're barely jogging, the distances between them don't make sense, etc etc

This whole “prince” thing is definitely the weakest part of the story. I don’t know why authors keep doing this sort of thing; Giving one of their leads an entire fanclub that worships them… It makes it feel like every side-character’s life revolves around whatever the MC is doing, instead of having a world full of people with their own stuff going on.

I wonder if this is a case of allowing the fiction to be unduly influenced by the author/audience’s perspective. The main characters are important to us, the readers. They shouldn’t be all-important diegetically.

Or maybe it’s even simpler than that: The transparent wish-fulfillment of being popular and universally loved.
