I'm so tired and disappointed after seeing the same pattern in every second school GL:
-> MC starts dating the love interest (or is close to start dating)
-> A rival shows up
-> MC is like "No, I won't let her steal my girl"
-> Proceed to do everything the rival says, 'cause I don't fucking know???
-> Somehow everything turns out alright and the rival that was so persistent earlier, gives up completely
-> Profit
Like, it's not even funny at this point. WHY IS THIS EVEN A TROPE? WHY??? WHY DO JAPANESE LIKE TO ADD ANNOYING CHARACTERS THAT ADD NOTHING TO THE STORY AND JUST BE ANNOYING AND CORNY AND WHATEVER THE FUCK??? ADDING A RANDOM ANNOYING CHARACTER THAT CONSTANTLY GETS IN BETWEEN THE MC AND HER GF DOESN'T MAKE THE STORY BETTER
