No clue about this author, but from the comments and the manga thus far I get it that he is G.R.R.Martin wannabe that wanna kill half the "good" cast for "effect", but in the end it sucks and is predictable to much?
No, G.R.R. Martin does comic style resurrections sometimes (bringing back characters to life with suddenly introduced macguffins because they are popular, plot motors or the cast is becoming to thin), and he usually build up a feeling of doom, so you can tell when a character is in danger, Hamita's don't...
He loves to bring despair and tragedy suddenly in stories that didn't had any sad elements before, it's not bad writing as it usually feel quite realistic (like how people die suddenly and with no build up before IRL from accidents, violence, or sudden body failures), but it hurts... A lot.
Hamita's loves heroes that fail at the end, or succeed a little in some way but still die or suffer a trendemous loss for it.
He must have liked too much Mahou no Princesse Minky Momo (or any of those animes/manga with sudden tragedies and brutal main cast deaths, look into the
