Chiyoko's earnestness is the thing that really makes this manga work. She's a great foil to all the scheming and ulterior motives of the others, I think it would be pretty frustrating to read if she were a different kind of character or written only slightly differently.

That Shinoppe. I am convinced that Sakine only forgave her in 9.1 because she wants to be forgiven herself. But Shinoda's smile then had me convinced that she is a sociopath. Only doing things for her own amusement.

This new look on face though, perhaps having these three as friends will help push her in a better direction. Time will tell.
