Some chapters are like that, though most are pretty easy since my process is pretty streamlined now. These are just three pages, so as long as there's no redrawing, it usually only takes me 10~30 minutes depending on the difficulty of the translation (this one probably took about fifteen minutes). Redrawing can really draw things out though. Some of the worst ones have taken over an hour and a half to finish up. Those are pretty rare though, maybe only once a month or two. In general though it's well within my daily tolerance, so I'm still not feeling any burnout (no idea how the author isn't though considering he actually has to draw these, especially after working all day).

Since it's kind of relevant and you might be curious, I'll give you the average times for the other manga I'm translating (Yumizuka Iroha wa Tejun ga Daiji) since they're a bit more consistent (albeit generally longer than the ones here since its a proper manga):

• Cleaning: ~30 min / 10 pages
• Translation: ~40 min / 10 pages
• Redrawing: ~1 hr / 10 pages (don't ask me why this takes so long, I have no idea either)

That is a hell of an established habit. Do you have any long term goals considering you've been so consistent?
I imagine your ability to translate Japanese has improved quite a bit in the past year or so.

I don't really have any long-term goals, I just want to stay consistent and keep providing translations. As for my Japanese, it has definitely improved a decent amount, though nothing crazy. I've probably already put around a thousand hours into the language, so the few minutes of novel language exposure a day this provides still doesn't add up to a huge net effect. It's still something though, which is good because ever since I started learning Chinese a few years ago I've kind of neglected any explicit Japanese study (and I've not been too consistent with my immersion either).

My god, learning another character based language on top of doing translation for a character based language!
I think anybody reading this would be really impressed with your work ethic, while being thankful for your consistent translations.

I love to see how you would personally handle something like being thrown in the middle of Japan, to manage it, though I think that might be my manga brain talking.

I think I'd manage it okay, but I'm only really advanced when it comes to reading, with my speaking, listening, and writing (on a computer at least, I can't handwrite most kanji) all being upper-intermediate at best, so I'd probably still struggle a fair bit. My foundation is strong enough that I'd improve (relatively) quickly though - I just need more exposure.

Maybe it's because of my experience seeing a lot of people dealing with Dunning–Kruger, but that fact you are self-assessing yourself says a lot. It's good stuff, those are some crazy skills you are cultivating. Appreciate the manga translating as a byproduct of that effort.
