There's too many old comics to go through but I don't think his family is ever brought up? I think the assumption is that he doesn't want to be a bother or lives too far away from them. Back when he caught a cold Miharu was the one who had to bring him medicine and food.

Yeah and I imagine not everyone wants to live with a sibling even if visits can be common
But I guess him being a single child makes it used to not asking for help and such
