I don't get why "bad at cooking" is a cliche to take it to such an extreme like this.
Cooking takes practice to improve, not innate talent that you have or don't.
At the very least you just need to be able to follow instructions.

But this whole "She touched a stove once... It exploded." thing needs to stop!

Thank you for the amusing side story. In the end, raising kids is not just the mother's duty. If the father is absent it can get tough too....tis a collective responsibility.

At least in that series it's actually funny cause it how random it is

It is kind of a problem if she continued to cook while the fire is spreading at the same time, as the panel shown
