Don’t forget, the MC literally confessed his love to her in the very first chapter. After he’d beaten up her and her friends multiple times over the course of weeks or months. That was a pretty balsy move right there.

I think everyone is forgetting that MC is a demon. Not just a demon, but the Demon Lord's second in command. There is a little more to it than just being a wuss. We still don't know how Celica's family would react to the news, or if the other members of the hero's party would react negatively or not. \

In fact, in the hierarchy, he supposed to be the weakest of the Demon Lord 4 devas. It’s just he is actually stronger than the Demon Lord.

This leads to the heroes even without Cecilia beat the Demon Lord because all this time they have necessary level to beat the Demon Lord. The heroes even commented everyone else is actually easy compared to Youkai whom guards the first step.
