Eh, cheap way for the author to keep her from leaving Oliver's group otherwise the readers would just be excited if that team wiped. She's an adult, capable of making money, she was picked up by the count to be used as a tool, she owes him nothing.
She knows this path is dangerous and doesn't bring any benefit to her but the author doesn't seem to know what else to do.
