I recall seeing something years ago about how those requirements also generally end up being less secure than "Yeah, just put in whatever it's cool". Basically once you force things you rule a lot of things out, making brute forcing the passwords easier.The password segment hit close to home.
I can’t stand how passwords have to be 10–12 characters long and include uppercase letters, numbers, and random bullshit unicode.
If my password is weak, that’s my problem — why should the site care? Most accounts that aren’t tied to online banking aren’t worth anything anyway.
