It's not that I necessarily dislike city/country-building manga, but I feel like unless it's somehow grounded in reality, with like, actual real-life technology development, it's kinda boring. Because by necessity it gets very wordy and technical, and when it's like this where it's all made-up magic mumbo jumbo, it's just all pointless drivel. If I'm gonna read a ton of technical text, I'd like to feel like I'm learning something or at least that it all has some kind of consistent internal logic. Since the MC and many of his followers are like, nigh omnipotent, the author can just pull whatever they want out of their ass at any time, so it feels like there's no reason to wade through all the text.
