Re-reading this for a bit. Just realised that this is the same technique that Mayuri used to relieve Yuusuke's pain after he got punched. Except she didn't really get how it really works.

In the other chapters, she noted how mayuri's ancestors ate something called the angel fruit. I'm assuming it allows them to use some of the abilities of angels with the side effect of food appearing.
