What are the rules of honor? I don't remember this manga having had such a plot point."i couldn't risk going after her"
Ok, but you still essentially betrayed the rules of honor and if you were my bodyguard i'd have trouble trusting you ever again to do your damn job.
It doesn't, he is just a idealist commenter who doesn't get the risks and why the butler prioritized his job and nor that he would very likely just get killed and escalate the situation. Typical blind thoughtless justice base only morals and ideals. What are the rules of honor? I don't remember this manga having had such a plot point.

What are you taking about. Obviously those two were simply worried about the kidnapped girl and totally didn’t go alert the fat noble that they got spotted. Nope that totally isn’t the case and they are simply normal everyday guardsThose two guards look suspicious. Potentially involved in the kidnapping.
Yeah, pretty much what the others are saying:"i couldn't risk going after her"

That remind me many chapters ago when Chain-kun barging into kidnapper(?)'s lair and doing some demon works with the help of his butler. Those kidnappers are so fucked.
Should they found a connection between this and the fatso, and even more so if he does anything with the loli-hime, he's a dead pig meat. It definitely won't end well for him. Cain won't even need to go full force on him. Heck, even if he goes full force on his arse, it would still be justified and people of both countries, no matter the status, be it commoners or even the nobles, would still say "please, kick his arse, make him regret ever being alive".Yeah, pretty much what the others are saying:
That would be the incorrect course of action here. He's more or less on his own, with no back up at all, and going up against an unknown number of assailants.
Consider the stuff that MC has done so far. Lord Corgino and his allies won't do anything less than absolute overkill when making a move against the MC. Which means that this force would probably comprise an unusual number of high-level thugs.
Not that this butler actually knew about that. But he was right in taking the safe path. Had he acted rashly, he would have been beaten down with sheer numbers, and then Princess Lilu would have been taken as well.
After all, a black market slave auction would make a killing were they to offer up a bonafied princess as one of their offerings.
So yeah. Butler-kun made the right call. And then the Princess made the right call in making sure Cain knew about it as soon as possible. Because as we've seen, Cain was able to find out very quickly where Parma is being held at.
Sighs But then, the Princess decides to get directly involved. Dammit, girl!
Now I just hope that they'll be able to make a connection between this and Lord Corgino. His supporters won't be able to help him at all if it comes to light that he is kidnapping their very own citizens. (And doubly so if they try anything with Princess Lilu.)
Worse than unknown, he knew they had three carnages, he knew he was outnumbered.Indeed, how dare a BUTLER is self-aware of his own combat ability AND prioritize the safety of the person he's serving.
CLEARLY the BEST option was to just go YOLO against unknown amount of enemies and put his master at risk.

Potentially? it was far from subtle. Those two guards look suspicious. Potentially involved in the kidnapping.
