I just checked the raw, and it said he would transfer on his 2nd year. So, that should be grade 11.

I'm assuming the translator was from a country where high school is 4 years, starting from grade 9.

I agree, bestie being a bro and having a girlfriend (with similar personalities). I think the only difference is they were childhood friends while the Angel Next Door, they actually met in high school (yet they act like they knew each other their whole life xD)
Honestly, I think this trope of bestie with a established girlfriend should be the new norm. Or at least, have a solid love interest with bestie without the love triangle shenanigans and their own plotline or something.

He is 9th grade then bc in my case it was like that too. 9th and later was highschool.
