"quiet down" or "pipe down" or "not so loud!" would all suffice, but "talk softlier" is just not it.

Ah, gotcha, in that case it sounds like it's probably patched up MTL without looking at the raw words.

If it had been correct, I suppose speak (more) softly would be the proper way to translate it.
