I dont know the numbers but my guess would be they probably notice that hyping up a new garbage series and diverting traffic to it gets them bigger numbers than consistently updating their good series cause all good series have a drop off in viewership due to having slow arcs. Idk why they would do such a braindead move but its only a guess
