Everyone is different on when they feel ready to have sex for the first time in a relationship, so I won't speak to what "normal" is.

However I think it goes against her established personality. She just realized she likes him a few hours ago. I don't remember if we have been told her age but she has said that she is mid aged which puts her at the very least in her early 30's but most people don't use that term until they're 40.

She has lived all that time with no interest in romance and seems to take everything very seriously.

So that person very nervously goes on her first date, falls, in love and has sex for the first time with her direct subordinate from work.

It doesn't really make a lot of sense.
You do realize you're reading a manga that has its own logic/anime logic that the community either meme it, joke it, and accepted a long/not accepted time ago right? So the fact you said, "It doesn't really make a lot of sense" its funny to me.

I get where you're coming from, but Masaki's naive inexperience is the reason I think her behavior does make sense. Someone more experienced would be better able to keep their feelings in perspective. For Masaki, it's all new, and she's high on the rush.

Shuu hit it out of the park on this question. I love that after Masaki helped with his issues about his scar, it's now his turn helping her with her issues about her image at work. The momentum continues with that second kiss. It may be only their first "official" date, but the other time(s) they went out also counts as a date to me. It's not like they were total strangers with zero feelings towards each other before this first official date, so I don't mind the direction they're heading into.

Agreed. Wouldn't work if she only had some feelings for him.. but she is an absolutely lovestruck maiden in heat and she knows it.

Hell, here she is nearly passing out experiencing the emotional roller coaster of romance—not necessarily a bad thing and I personally find it adorable—though I imagine a romantically-experienced person in that same scenario being okay with that lightspeed relationship development pace would be more like...
