Anyone else find it weird that their society has gone through their industrial revolution but still permits slave trade? I mean if you've progressed that far economically and in technology, then social and political progression is inevitable. (Keep in mind I'm assuming women's rights have already happened.) Its only natural for develop societies to discard slavery. Once technology has progressed to a certain point manual labor becomes inefficient. Right?

Bit late, but pretty sure he operates, rather, as a servant/butler. Not too uncommon for their approximate time period, and one is still the master of the other.

I think when i typed this I was equating it to the 1950s-60s. Thats just to give an idea of where my head was at.
