Going by previous chapters, it could be something like the prince keeping Bell incased and keep her to himself after getting so broken.
(It could be that Bell or the heroine was defending the prince and somehow ended up with a mortal wound, then he kept her in a glass case)

I don't think those are the same.
As the history tutor surmised, seems like the prince only really inherited magic power, so not quite reincarnators.
