They’re often portrayed as either one depending on the context.

It's more like they are adults but if you compare it to the other characters ages they are like young children so get treated like one. But In human years they are like in their 20's and basically it's like if you give someone in their 20's no responsibility.

Fuzai's age is unknown
Walnut is 200+ years old
In accordance to their behaviour walnut in human years would be ~14 maybe ~10
And fuzai sometimes acts ~16 and occaisonally ~25
Still their actual age suggests they are much much much much older than an average human
