After all the stuff in her golddigger arc and her sex-crazed arc, the commie agitator she partners with to cheat new adventurers out of big-time yen with "training" that's inferior to what MC puts online for free manages to get several of those newbies killed on level 1 by cutting costs with trainers who lack even the basic adventurer trait, she and her parents are arrested for complicity in their deaths. Displaying the same type of maturity seen here, she busts out of stir, kills her parents, charters a plane to a newly emerged zombie dungeon, blows up the plane and the pilot after she's dropped off there, and plans to lie in wait for her CF to track her down and kill him. Unfortunately, the boss there is way too OP for her to handle and kills her instantly, absorbing her consciousness.
That sounds like fan fiction im not going to lie lol. Tbh, this is just bad writing and it's pretty common in web novels so I'm not surprised. Maybe the author is projecting or something but it's obvious he has some kind of personal gripe here, and/or it just be bad writing.
The way the author handles Kayako was my biggest gripe with the WN. It's done horribly. He says stuff like he tried to help her or whatever but he helped her less than he did total strangers. She and her mom are the closest things to a family he had left and he's leaving them to their demise. I feel worried for what's going to happen next. I hope it's not as bad though compared to the WN. He really should have level drained her or revealed he was strong from the beginning. It's weird how he says he cares but the easiest and simple way for him to make sure she's fine is to train her.
A lot of OP MC in these kinda stories have this repulsion to help raise their family members or friends. That one Avalon manga did it right. The MC in that one isn't hiding his expertise from his family and is making sure they're able to level up and survive on their own without him. The author is forcing it too hard to make kayoko go down a bad end m it's obvious.
Exactly this, everyone, understandably hates on Kayako, but the writing about how its handled has been pretty bad so far. The MC's whole personality is pretty badly written; he seems to have this on/off empathy where sometimes he cares and other times he doesn't. Kayako is bad but the MC is acting like he did anything for her. Like others have mentioned, he barely interacts with Kayako and her mom even though they should basically be his family at this point after he lost his parents. He's distant for no reason and cares way too much for anime. It's hard to believe for someone that is supposed to be 10 years older, especially with the stuff he's seen. I will say that his personality is somewhat consistent, but also hypocritical. The biggest problem is the author's writing though, it's obvious that he wants Kayako to be a hated character, for some reason (maybe some projecting here) but the execution is badly written. You can have a hated character, but you need to write it well. So far, I'm not rooting for the MC at all and I don't feel like Kayako is properly developed to be hated. Seems like everyone's "gripe" with her stems from the fact that she dated someone else besides the MC and everyone calling it "NTR" or whatever. Most of the conflicts so far feel very surface level, generic, and childish.
There's also plot related oddities like how no one but the US has been able to figure out who this guy is. He has billions of views and is a worldwide sensation yet has not gotten doxed yet, especially since there are plenty of people who know who he is.
