When society has brainwashed you so much, that you are willing to suicide/be imprisoned to 'atone for your sins'. They could have tried to actually atone through their whole life, rather than get jailed. They are not doing anybody a favor by getting jailed.

@Ceiye na, they already failed, even back then when they were all the rage i always skipped following them, unless they were for a coupon or something like that, also passing flyers and the like, it is such a bad plan, people will just dump them in the trash and go on with their day.

@criver they just really, really, really feel gulty, and they are teens, plus it is not certain if they will get jailed, since Paisen's dad can cover it up again being so influential.

I get why they are doing it, I simply don't think it's the best course of action, nor does it look realistic. The author is depicting the whole thing in a favorable light, when in fact it is not good for anybody. The issue is that I think that he honestly believes this is the 'right thing' for them to do based on his writing.

When people commit violent crimes (even if it's manslaughter), facing justice like getting your sentencing in court is better than leaving them be to "atone". That's a better outcome than hoping the perpetrator is really sorry and will be a good person for the rest of their life imo.

People with a good conscience also tend to confess their wrongdoings if it's bad enough.
