Why did Mahiru's mom snapped out of her illusions so fast? Seems like she had pretty serious mental issues, you can't just say her few words and done with it. It doesn't work this way

She never actually believed any of that. Like Subaru back when he pretended to be crazy before getting called out by the priest guy. Hence the emphasis on "Can't accept the death" vs. "Won't accept the death" (IIRC. If only a certain SOMEONE didn't pad the series with Shonen Battle BS). The only weird thing is that she didn't snap at the stranger just barging in and saying all this to her. But the stranger's a vampire so...

I don't think it that simple. She was in this state for years, ignored the presence of her own child, whom she actually loves. It's not something sane person would do. It would be understandable if it lasted for week or month, but she was detached from reality for prolonged period of time. I'm not psychiatrist of course and maybe i'm wrong, but it seems like rather serious mental disorder to me. At least not something you can immediately end with just few words. Well, maybe vampires can do it

I'm not convinced he was ever loved. His life revolved around his brother. If bro was sick, nobody got to do anything until he was better. Bro not going to a field trip? Neither is he. Unless there's a translation issue, the entire conversation literally was just "Ok, so you couldn't accept it at first, but then you snapped out of it and decided not to accept it." Now that she's been told she's wrong by a particularly persuasive individual, she leaps onto the burning bridge that is her other child. Yes, it's a dumb plot point, but that's basically the entire series in a nutshell once the detective arc begins, and it doesn't get any better until the Kiku sub-plot is over.

I didnt think he wasn't allowed to go on a field trip, more like he dont want to go there anymore after heard what his mother said.

What are you talking about. The entire page boils down to:
"Hey, mom c-can I go on the trip?"
"Your brother's not going, is he?"
"Right... never mind"

The next day:

"GOD FUCKING DAMMIT, I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M NOT GOING ON THAT FUCKING TRIP!"
"Why not?"
"MY BITCH MOM"

It's not a difficult scene to follow. Her life's always revolved around the golden child, and she made sure his did too.

Okay, so mom was in delusional state the whole time, locked herself after mental trauma and you guys are blaming her for treating Mahiru like air... what the fuck?

Firstly, it's Japan and still most of modern world, mental illness is treated like bothersome, probably didn't had no psychological support.
Secondly, hard to blame someone in that state for their actions, it's entirely up to her husband and absent psychiatric help.

Mahiru should know better to blame his mom, albeit he is a 14yo kid and lack any understanding of her issues, she shouldn't be accused of anything as her actions weren't at any point backed with rational thinking of any kind.

Right now Mahiru was a total fucking asshole after his mom miraculously regained her mental health, saying his dead brother will come back and she should wait for his return.

Kiku is one hell of a bitch.

He was neglected PRIOR to his brother's death. Even before his brother died, she still treated him like air. It got even worse after his brother died. Sure, he is an asshole for how he acted. But who can blame him? His family neglected him before the brother died, and the neglect became worse afterward. It literally took a wakeup call for his mom to finally snap out of it.

For your first point, you're not wrong, she probably never got psychological help. But the fact she had a SECOND CHILD who she already was slightly neglecting in the first place probably should have pushed her to get therapy.

Second point, while you can argue it is hard to blame someone for their actions in that state, I'd argue if they are in a state where they are constantly neglecting a child, that they should give the child to a family member to raise till they get their shit together.

Mahiru was neglected and while you can argue he should know better; with how much he was neglected and how PREVENTABLE this treatment was, it becomes quite clear it's his parents fault he fell down this path and that he is hurt because of it. He may be an asshole, but honestly, I think he deserves it this time. He probably has so much bottled-up emotions from his years of neglect that he needs to vent his frustrations.

Dunno about neglect, sure they favoured older brother more than him, but real neglect started when he died. Mom on the sea trip looked rather caring... seems like typical inferiority complex.

Once you go into delusional state, you shield yourself from outside world. We don't know about their family, if they didn't, most likely were cut off as it happens in Asian families if married against their family wishes. Just a speculation.

Venting out on mentally ill is kinda an ass behaviour, especially that he knew his mom is out of her mind. But again, typical Japanese mentality if it happens, it's bothersome rather than issue to help.

I will say I get where you're coming from. But I also will say that Mahiru deserved better treatment growing up. (I might've misinterpreted what you said for this next part, my bad if I did.) Also, as a kid, how was Mahiru supposed to help. It's not really on him to help. Sure, he could encourage her to get help, but it's quite clear that nobody has been able to convince her to get help for years.

That's the point, it's heavily neglected there and pretty much everywhere to a point it's too late.

I'd suggest reading "That's My Atypical Girl" how mental health is treated, or rather not at all.
