I kind of figured that was the case, which is why I wasn't super miffed.Posting this here until everyone gets the message![]()
Don't get why anybody cares about a concurrent release, not like we're out here talking with Japanese commenters discussing the most recent chapter. As far as the English speaking fanbase goes, the scanlation IS the regular update.Posting this here until everyone gets the message![]()
It's not about the discussion, but rather, the chance of grabbing the digital chapter and translating it at that moment when it's not locked behind some hard-to-access paywall and the least thing we can do is just wait for the tankobon release. At least, that's what I experienced when I read most of Japanese titles. Idk, man, manga distribution is really weird nowadays with timed exclusives and their coins, and not even counting all of those digital-only oneshots and what-not. Thank God some mangakas now are more willing to share some of their chapters sample on SNSDon't get why anybody cares about a concurrent release, not like we're out here talking with Japanese commenters discussing the most recent chapter. Could be that they thought the previous group have finished or are working on chapter 13 and above, so they might as well not waste that effort scanlating a chapter that's already being worked on.Don't get why anybody cares about a concurrent release, not like we're out here talking with Japanese commenters discussing the most recent chapter. Here's a wild notion: talk to the group currently translating, and alternate chapters with them. As in, the anon handles 15, they handle 16, and so on. They clearly have a source for raws, so ask them for copies, if you can't get them. That way, you're not posting into the void, appealing only to people who, for reasons beyond my comprehension, are willing to read later chapters with no context, and/or people who can read Japanese, and thus have no need for English translations. Bonus points, you won't annoy people outside of those groups.Posting this here until everyone gets the message![]()
You do know that imageboard archive sucks for long-term image storage, right? Also, this still doesn't explain why someone feels the need to cross-post this to MangaDex
Given that I've dug up archives of boards that are over a decade old, it seems like the main barrier is how much people care about archiving it. Mind you, that was stuff from /tg/, and mostly the sort of RPG stories that people feel are epic enough to be preserved for posterity. But it can be done. And I'd be shocked if /a/ didn't have some means of doing it, other than uploading here. They've been around for much longer than Mangadex. You do know that imageboard archive sucks for long-term image storage, right?
