MC fear of fighting makes sense, as he is not a fighter.
I think in the novel the light user mage was actual trouble for MC because as he was unable to see the attacks, that were made of light, they could bypass his barrier or something, or because the othe rparty was a court mage he had enough poower to break his barrier and slip in a laser, he was one of the few real threats he had and the author wrote him early to remove it fast.
The coreography in the fight sucked hard, I didn't understand anything of what was happening and what MC was seeing to alarm him that much.

When I read this it feels like the plot is so condensed as if it's missing pages here and there. The series is running trough tropes and situations so fast that there's no real time to breathe. It almost feels like nothing is happening despite 3 characters and a plot thread being introduced and finished during a single chapter because of that, things just lack weight. I'm not even sure what I'm supposed to feel about this, it's not garbage but it's clearly bad too.
I'm not sure if there's a real goal that the manga is working towards or if this is "it" (I believe the later to be the case). The first few chapters just seemed like a quick preamble, like the final evolution of a manga writing where a story has to jump trough the standard hoops to get to the good part but it just keeps going like that. I'm intrigued and concerned at the same time.

This manga total failed to explain 5 Basic W and 1 H

It still be fine when chapter 4, but now I totally clueless at chapter 10,
