Feels like you shouldn’t look that dead inside accepting a confession (tho it doesn’t look like she was saying it outta spite even tho she used those words against her) but at least it’s not as “bad” as the destroy it and love me In hell series

This manga has been stalled to volume 1 for one year and a half (so I took my time), but the author on her Tiktok wrote that volume 2 should come out this summer.

Wait and see...

Thanks for the tl, hopefully we’ll get some growth. Wouldn’t mind a spinoff /one shot of the gay guys tho idk if the author would put that much thought into it if it’s gonna focus on the girls

Be hilariously messed up if everyone In the school knew and accepted and literally only her thought/said “not a normal love” and making her look even worse (of course realistically a high school would never be that united versus the over the top worshipping of a popular or Princely type archetype)

(actually do these girls even have names? Tho it would be kinda amusing if the story went on and we literally never get their names/profiles)

It feels like she only accepted her childhood friend's confession, because she's still getting over her crush's rejection.

well they are teens , i imagine they'd be quick to rebound or cling to the next sign of affection tho idk if it'll last , either "new" girl will try to seduce her away if not date a few other guys and girls

If not drama with parents like "being best friends isn't the same as being in love"/"we'll tolerate it because you're still 'kids' but as adults you'll never be able to stay together/get married so just get it out of your system while you're still young" but i guess there's enough angst without potential parental homophobia and societal judgment

Yeah, this is not ending well for the childhood friend, she's definitely getting dumped when MC and the other girl talk things out (If this manga keeps going like this)
I really hate how childhood friends became a stepping stool in romance mangas and nothing more :fml:🚬

Well idk about yuri but feel like there has been some straight romance manga where the childhood friend “wins” tho apparently irl it’s also uncommon bc “being raised together” might make ppl see each other as siblings despite the step sibling and straight up incest being drawn/common for some authors (tho other than borderline hentai idk how many have the cousins “winning”) , I feel like I saw one where it ended in a throuple/polycule

Irl, gay or not i imagine there are ppl who have been friends for decades and never saying anything /making a move bc you can stay by someone’s side longer as a platonic friend unless you chance being friends with benefits and hope it doesn’t get too awkward when ppl move on to a more serious partner

Hopefully this particular childhood friend isn’t too malicious, it might’ve been her own way of “helping “ with the teasing about her liking childish things but it def felt like the whisper and perhaps timing of the new girl to “walk in” being manipulative /on purpose to flaunt it in front of her
"Want to know what'll happen next? Yeah, me too buddy"
That is a very funny degree of honesty coming from the author

I guess it’s good to be flexible assuming they don’t have axe/are allowed to have freedom over their story flow and deadlines versus “it’s too ambiguous in where it’s heading, end this in 4
Chapters” from an editor/company

The only question the author needs to be asking for Volume 2 is this type of girl who can make two selfish self-absorbed jerks learn to share...

I think my main gripe with this series so far is how it kinda feels sorta half-baked. So much time has been spent making the feelings between two girls almost star-crossed, and then in a single chapter that all goes to shit in one of the most monumental misunderstandings I've seen in yuri. it feels like the author got carried away building up their OTP that they suddenly realized they completely left certain parts of the story hanging (the childhood friend) and scrambled for a way for those things to become relevant again, leaving us with whatever we have going on here. It feels like quite a fumble but that could just be me.

Honestly, I found this outcome incredibly realistic, emotional honesty is a hard fucking lesson to learn and you WILL lose people and things because of it. I imagine what happens next also be tragically realistic, since relationships that start like this are invariably doomed from the jump.
