Aww, they got married. And they're both successful too. That death fakeout on Gramps was foul, lol. I still wish we got to see more of the in-between, but at least there's an epilogue to look forward to.
I really blinked and it ended. Well I guess I at least go back and catch up in everything else. Ugh, this is why I hate series that stretch out the main couple getting together until so close to the end. Like had they started dating around chapter 50 we could've spent more time getting to know how they work as a couple and focusing on their challenges as they advance their respective dreams while not bogging it down with romance teases here and there. I want everything to go the Brooklyn Nine-Nine or Parks and Rec route and NOTHING to go the How I met your Mother route. The problem with romance sublots is that it's so often treated like a chore or something writers don't want to bother with even though that's like one of the main reasons audiences were drawn to a work and they know and intended that.
Anyone surprised by this ending, do you not remember the whole same-face nun horror arc? After that, it always seemed like this was going to end up with an unsatisfying end.
First the nun arc where we weren't able to tell apart from every character, then the fabric arc, then not talking to each other creating confusion between them and lastly... This
I can say I wasted my time
I'll just stick to the first half of the manga
Not a bad ending, but it does look very much "I'm dyeing, so here the ending" situation. Like, the manga is 2 thirds way through, but author will die before if keeps going, so here is the Epilogue. And it very much feels like the Epilogue, like the Hunter x Hunter "Final Chapter", shame it had to come to this.
But thanks for the memories.
They both realised they love each other 10 chapters in to the manga. Then, they spent 100+ chapters on useless bullshit, just to finally get together at second-to-last chapter, and it ends in this way?
If there was no Marin in this manga it would be utter garbage.
For one, we didn't even get to see Gojo personally improve his skills in creating dolls. I mean, it's a cosplay manga so it makes sense that cosplay would be the focus but at least there should've been an arc that relates to Gojo making Hina dolls apart from make-up.
The romance didn't really develop as much as anticipated. At least show some bits of the lovey dovey stuff that couples do like dates and so on.
Even the side characters whom we thought would probably get a fair amount of screen time didn't get that. I mean, their purpose as side characters is to be stepping stones for the main characters to achieve or to be roadblocks for them to go over but it doesn't feel as fleshed out when you have those arcs where they delve into their feelings, etc. then you forget them the moment you move on.
But I guess the way this ended is better than how most manga would end: total flops with no proper endings. So many loose ends that could've been tied up, so much missed opportunity, but better than Rent-A-Girlfriend.
