Wow, manga messed me up, I expected the kindly old lady to be a scumbag or some kind of villain. Instead, she was just a kindly old lady who wants to help refugees move forward in life.

Becoming a citizen is just the first step though ^^; Don't forget you'll need to also subtract the cost of living that is being used from day to day, not to mention you'll need to also have money saved up for a house rent or otherwise, initial food expenses, furniture otherwise even if you've become a citizen you'll be sleeping on the streets. Then you'll start paying taxes which intotal would probably be alot more than the citizenship cost

At this point, getting access to town is just to get an ID and figure out more lucrative jobs from the guild and market. It's also time to get a bank account so the parents can't steal, and hopefully make herself known to the guards so that events won't push them to toll her for bullshit reasons.

Yeah, dude, we read too many isekai manga with jerk and assholes sprinkle here and there. These are becoming a staple troupe as of late. What's left are scumbag backstabber teammate, annoying guild senior, jackass noble who flaunting their authority, and dreadful dice roll of fate during dungeon delving.

Interesting anachronisms in what looks like a European medieval fantasy setting, like women wearing pants (the citizen lady's whole getup especially looks out of place), or these ID lanyards.
Also, a stone axe doesn't sound so good for hunting. A spear or even a hefty stick will do better, while stones are good for throwing really hard.

Assuming each rabbit she catches is ~3 pounds and using the price tag of $10 per pound(which is a lowballed price) it cost ~1140 USD to register as an adventurer which, citizenship aside, is pretty dang expensive just to become an adventurerer, at least compared to other fantasy settings. Well, who knows, maybe it pays really well.
