Oh no, the last time they got split up and one of them needing rescue I think was when they were train station attendants and Yume got lost (ch. 54-56).
Even worse, back then they still got paid, this time they didn’t even get the money (or at least the ledger wasn’t updated).

You know I used to think that Yume was the responsible one and Hama was the wild child, but seeing Yume run off to join a cult the instant they get separated has me seriously reconsidering that.

Hmm, interesting how all the detective assistants were hinting at this part of the story. The strongest child Nijimura is similar to the case Chacha took with the missing detectives. Also, the mind god cult bears a striking resemblance to the facility that experimented on peoples brains. Maybe an offshoot of that facility that looked for the more spiritual power of the brain than the physical?

More like infiltrate but she has no connections and leads... only the broker could give her a hint and thats the only one she got. They said many times that they would make it together or not at all. Only reason she isn't at the previous job looking for Hama is how she was transported outside... though now that I think about, with the missing ledger even, maybe shes still there. But I think there was a previous occasion were the ledger was updated twice after two jobs.

Ohoho, Yume going to save Hama. And more overarching plot progression stuff, eh? I guess we really are coming up on the third act now. I'm a little surprised that Hama disappeared at a regular (non-red) job, but that element of surprise is valuable as well!

I'm hoping this isnt' the final arc, but that's a lot of callbacks to previous jobs: the kodoku house, alternate universes/timelines, the brain research facility. Definitely some big plot soon, at least.
