Well, I agree with this to some extent. However, reading many mangas with the same mindset and pattern can lead one to judge things harshly, and that's really my case. I am so tired of the "Harem + Comedy" genre trope, only to find that the MC is always presented with his harem on a silver platter, yet he chooses to donate this platter to charity instead of embracing it.

Because she's part of the enemy from his point of view. It's a bit better conveyed in LN but he's decided it's safer to stay in denial and feign complete ignorance than give her anything to work with.
