Personally, I think Eri is aromantic or somewhere between there and asexual. Like, she REALLY doesn't connect in a romantic way with anyone and is far more interested in her companionship and closeness with Fuyuki, not necessarily her romantic one - the issue is that in our world, your romantic partner is and SHOULD be your closest person, which she understands and mentions multiple times throughout the series, but is immensely hurt by the distance Fuyuki puts between them as one does when they get a romantic partner. This is completely a completely normal thing to do to respect your partner, but she doesn't know what to do about it, so she lashes out when she sees Fuyuki getting closer and closer in ways she can't (this is why she was so upset by seeing her kissing, a level of closeness she isn't able to reach). It's probably due to translation but I'm not sure who's denser here, Fuyuki or Eri. Like Eri, yes girl, you DO have romantic feelings for Fuyuki. It's so obvious to literally everyone except you and Fuyuki. And Fuyuki, SHE LITERALLY SAID THAT SHE WON'T ASK YOU TO BE HER GIRLFRIEND BECAUSE SHE THINKS YOU'RE IN LOVE WITH SENPAI. LIKE GIRL, WHAT MORE DID SHE NEED TO SAY?!?!?!
I SWEAR TO GOD, IF THIS DOESN'T HAVE AN ENDING WHERE BOTH FUYUKI AND ERI ARE HAPPY (PREFERABLY TOGETHER) I'LL be really bummed out fr 😔
Edit: After rereading the chapter, I might've misunderstood what Eri said or it wasn't as clear as I thought but still. It's so obvious that they both love each other romantically, they are just both so broken in different ways to see it. Really tragic stuff and I hope they'll manage to figure it out
Yeah, this is one of the issues they have. Eri understands than being gay is possible. She doesn't understand, however, that it could apply to her as well. For her it just makes sense for Fuyuki to by her side. Why or how never even enters in her mindspace because it is how it should be. Eri has started interrogating the why, which is why this whole mess happened, but she is still too all over the place to understand her own answer.Eri’s really fighting for her life against that comphet notion of what romantic feelings actually feel like
