nah I'd disagree with that. The powers he was given is essentially limitless. He just learned to adjust to it. The people he's around just severely underestimate his power. This can be observed with the reaction the girls gave him as he was showing off this chapter and explaining a bit for chantless magic.

Nah, while MC is OP, a lot of it come from "change of perspective" how to use magic and "starting early". No one around MC ever tried to intentionally exhaust their magic reserves to make it grow (like you exhaust your muscles during training), because it seems dangerous to them (ike a lot of people are saying Al have "eyes of the dead fish" while his mana is exhausted). And later MC will teach chantless magic to other people using different methods. And it works especially well with other kids, because they aren't yet "indoctrinated" on how to use magic "properly".
