Is it really "progress" when the MC has to be dragged screaming through each stage? I am really at my limit with spineless beta simp "cuck candidates" as the MC. I struggle to comprehend how they are so bad at being basic human beings and I cannot relate to them in any way, and so the story doesn't land as it should because I have precious little empathy for anyone since I am not drawn in. In the next episode his sister lets the girls stay over, and his knee-jerk reaction is to grasp his platinum V card, shriek and try and stop it!?!?! I mean, she has damaged her ankle and can't move, so why like a normal human being, does he not consider that, rather that his irrational fear of being a man???

B/c what you're suggesting sounds like rape?

Unless you're talking about this chapter, where like he's a little uncomfortable and then gets over it to help her, which is w normal human thing.

Youre insane, inflamations are reduced with low temperatures and last shorter. When I got my wisdom tooth removed I f*cked my self up real good not using ice at first.
the inflammation IS the healing
you're just slowing down the process for absolutely no reason
the only case where ice might "help" is when you have to keep working the muscle and need to numb the pain a little
otherwise, it is utterly contradictory to put ice on it
if anything, you should warm it to increase blood circulation

Eh? Letting her stay in the same house, while the sister is there is rape??? Are you Japanese by any chance? Because that is not anything other than human decency.

According to ChatGPT:

Yes, ice is commonly used to reduce inflammation, especially in the first 24 to 72 hours after an injury. It helps by:

Reducing blood flow to the area, which minimizes swelling.

Numbing pain and decreasing muscle spasms.

Slowing cellular metabolism, which can limit tissue damage.

However, ice is best for acute inflammation, like after a sprain, strain, or bump. For chronic inflammation (like arthritis), heat may be more beneficial after the initial swelling goes down, as it improves blood flow and helps relax tight muscles.

I understand that extra warmth can speed up recovery but personaly I only have one experience with a serious inflamation and that time, ice only helped and let me tell you it reduced the pain greatly.

mine says:

Doctors traditionally recommend reducing swelling to alleviate pain, improve mobility, and address concerns about excessive inflammation causing secondary damage to tissues. Common methods include ice, compression, elevation, and anti-inflammatory drugs. However, the approach often prioritizes short-term relief over long-term healing, and there’s growing recognition that interfering with natural inflammation can sometimes hinder recovery.

Research on swelling reduction and recovery outcomes:

  1. Interference with Healing: Studies suggest that suppressing inflammation (e.g., through NSAIDs or icing) can delay tissue repair because it reduces the activity of immune cells critical for healing.
  2. Reduced Regeneration: Swelling is part of a cascade that includes increased blood flow and signaling for cellular repair. Blocking it prematurely might result in incomplete healing, especially for connective tissues like tendons and ligaments.
  3. Overuse of Ice: Prolonged or excessive use of ice has been linked to slowed recovery, as it reduces local metabolism and disrupts natural inflammatory signaling.
That said, excessive swelling causing compartment syndrome or prolonged immobility might warrant intervention. In general, allowing controlled inflammation (as you're doing) aligns with modern views emphasizing natural recovery processes over aggressive symptom management.
