"oh, yeah I actually have absorbed a quirk like 5 months ago that can specifically counter your quirk, sorry man". Or the heian era sukuna problem. Theres no limitation now and the author can lazily let her unlock abilities instead of being bound by the limitation of the system. The system was a really cool way of limiting her, now shes just another isekai power fantasy character.

the difference, is that we already know what abilities she can have, because she used them before she became a god, she could teleport before already

The story is still about Kumoko being put against the wall and must always suffer under various circumstances, not specifically a super powered spider that had magic. I've probably said this a dozen times in previous chapters, but people reading for the wrong reasons should probably take a hike rather than take it out on the series.

The current part of the story is fairly mild compared to before and after this point. But this was supposed to be:

• Suffer as a spider that needs to speedrun the game or get squished.
• Suffer as a new God who doesn't have her cheat codes anymore and has no idea how to be a God.
• Suffer as a God who now has to deal with world-ending problems Gods can't solve and hopeless people she can't fix.
• Suffer as [redacted].

I hope certain people can see the common theme here.

It's way less of "Suffering as" and more of "Doesn't know how to enjoy life" kind of story. Her whole thing is about a spider who craves for attention and joy but has absolutely no idea how to get them

Every time Kumoko/Shiro/White has called herself OP and unbeatable, the narrative has found a way to humble her.

Escaped from the Laberinth as a Legendary tier monster? Now Mother is after her.

Finally managed to outmaneuvered Mother? Ariel casually vaporizes her.

Manages to get a countermeasure against Ariel? Potimas and his anti-magic terminators almost kills her.

She is OP until the moment a bigger fish is introduced in the story, and there is always a bigger fish.

Pray tell me which godly abilities she can "unlock freely"? There's no a catalogue of fancy god power that she can browse and learn at will. There's also no textbook "HOW TO BE GOD 101" to instruct her what to do, nor a mentor figure who teaches her the way. So far she only replicated the old skills she had before, because she already experienced how they work. Crafting an entirely new skill with zero reference is still far beyond her ability now.

The "cool" system that you're praising is literally the laziest shit an author can come up with. Need more skill? Check the skill catalogue and buy it. Planning evolution route? Read catalogue again. The only limit is whether she had enough skill point/EXP or not, which can be solved by massacre everything on her way.

I don't think the criticism is a lack of foreshadowing. I think the criticism is that it's going to undermine tension in unsatisfying ways. Yes, she could always make threads, but suddenly pulling out her old powers as the plot needs them to instantly resolve whatever conflict is happening at the time feels like cheap writing, especially if it happens repeatedly. It makes her victories feel unearned.
