Rada isn't stupid, she's good assassin, in the LN, they describe what she can do in detail and even made Aria super wary of her

but the thing is that, Aria is a better planner, in-fact, the reason Rada fell for this trap is because she didn't know one of Aria speciality is dark magic as well, so Rada fell for it thinking she's the only one that can dip into the shadow not knowing Aria is also the type that would try doing the same thing, it also didn't help that she's basically almost cut off from the outside world when she dipped and she can't see shadow inside a shadow especially when it's that small of a shadow

not to mention, you can stack exp in this story, so Aria just leveled up like crazy right before she's attacking Rada

tl;dr : Aria caught Rada really off-guard, if this Aria plan didn't work, Aria would be the one that are completely dead since Rada is a better assassin 1 on 1

We also see that the equation can be manipulated as with our MC.

it kind of is in a way, but people who have higher combat power is stronger in general if we're not including their skills basically, since it tempered their body in a way, it's like general stats up when you level up in rpg, the one that are given to you that you can't control

what i like about this series though, higher combat power =/= harder to kill if caught off guard, their body is still human body, if they got a lethal hit, they die, and their body doesn't bounce back weapon just because their combat power is higher, unless maybe if the person use magic to protect themselves (a.k.a defensive spell/ability)
