For real, like I live in the UK and it's actually crazy how much people drink and smoke here, like the UK 100% has a drinking problem and it's also pretty much impossible to go to a city and not have a least one cloud of smoke blown in your face.

Like, we can see it never show in kid, hero show, hero shounen and good guy that could be role model never do it either, it usually the middle age character. I assume that japan, just like most of the world, see it as an unhealthy habit but that about it. And in this context, she ask it along side with alcohol, So it fitting, no ?

Agreed. Seriously, I remember writing a persuasive speech for my public speaking class about cigarette pollution and I was astonished about the amount of cigarette butts people throw away casually.
