You know, as a person who is firm on not having kids in my personal life (and im not even the type to be fond of kids like my friends. Never been the type to get excited seeing a baby or holding a baby in real life either), reading a child-centric series who can make me want to adopt and be a parent to the said protag speaks volume to the artist/author's skills as a storyteller.

From the paintings on wall it seems like shalaam also had some humans but it seems like they died and resulting into there skeleton near by. I think that shalaam has gone insane due to their death and isn't responding to others message

Rider seems genderless to me but I think the reason why the "two moms" thing was mentioned was bc the "mom" seems like the "cool" one. So both Rider and Miria wants to be the "mom" or someone who is often chosen.
But it's nice to see the two mom thing. We all want Mori to have thousands of Mom.

I don't think they mention they are genderless, but you can assume that by how they talk about the role "mom" and "dad" since they differentiate the 2 by wealth, how love each role and not by the term qualify with their gender. Also the fact that when they mention "couple" they don't think about the term "mates" as in animals, from that we can assume that they don't reproduce in the normal terms like us human hence they may or don't have specific gender role.

Not specifically mentioned but in the fan TL and in the official version, Rider/Ryder refers to themselves as "them" or just Rider. Also, they somehow alluded that they dont "produce offsprings" like humans/animals do. They just kinda split lol So I guess we can conclude that they dont have specific sex andgender roles or that's something foreign to them.
