its not just you my brother, cuz the way she says or mentionned "even back then", the FMC is definitively the girl from his flashback, unless the MC spoke to other girls when he was in elementary school or something...which i kinda doubt it

but if it was the childhood friend, why didn't the MC recongized her directly ? unless the author gave him temporary memory loss for theatrics, cuz isn't strange ? how his parent knew her or her family in the first ? idk if its just me activating my 4chan Schizo mode or me seeing some gap and stuff in the story. or is it because of the last name that changed which i highly doubt so...all i can do rn is to wait how it will goes
