The main thing that bothers me is that she willingly handed everything over to the step-mother, despite the step-mother literally spelling out her plan. There was no trickery. She's just the biggest pushover, incapable of dealing with any pressure. And somehow the step-mother didn't know that the "backwater" she was letting her keep was also the source of materials for their factories, despite her being the one that instructed that resource gathering increase to an unsustainable level.

I mean, who was in charge of running all these factories after her father died? The villainess has such intense social anxiety there's no way she was running things. However she seems critical to their functioning, and was perfectly aware of the levels of stocks and so on. I guess she could have been receiving reports and giving instructions through letters. But then, the step-mother seemed to be able to demand increases in production and resource gathering (it's hinted she was the one given the timing), but wasn't aware of the fact they were running out of stock, and where even the resources were produced. Or even that her step-daughter was integral to operations.

Those are probably best chalked up to "not enough time to explain, gotta simplify things".

Anyway, this chapter's actually nice aside from the abrupt ending. I won't mind if this one gets an adaptation to make it longer. Seeing the MC and the ML gets closer over time would be a cute story.

I'll never understand why freckles are seen as ugly in some countries, she was adorable with and without them.

The art was really good in general though hopefully the artist gets a good project to work on eventually.

Though I would be super angry in universe thinking this kid got robbed of her entire inheritance so easily and no one returned it to her when it was SO obviously a grift by her step mum and sis.

Kinda bizzare that not a single person in the household cared for the actual heir but whatever.

Also tbf to the prince, she really was unfit to be queen. Like, how are you gonna do dipolmacy if you are that sovially anxious and get pressured into bad deals that easily.

Again not a real villainess tho, hoping for more of that.

For everyone asking how the factories worked if she was the only ones with the recipes: a common method in the past was that the components where produced in mass but the ratio and the addition of some ingredients was done only by the chief. It was especially effective when they were dealing with a lot of similar products (except the head, nobody knew which combined with which).

It was quite common for the dyes and perfume.

So, the components could just be brought to her room where she was doing the last steps (since we are dealing with luxury goods, like perfume, precious metals, ..., the amount wasn't that big)
(Btw, I am pretty sure the term should have been workshops and not factories since the overall technology level and the low amount produced don't suggest it was done by machine)

I really like this chapter! The author is amazing at making this a oneshot; there are no unnecessary parts. The story flows really nicely. While reading, I kept thinking, "Oh no, only a few pages left; I don't want this to end!" I hope they will serialize this. The flow, story, characters, and art are all really good. I also like that, even though there is a hint of romance between them, they didn't end up together yet.


After checking, apparently the author and artist have been a duo for several manga already, that's why both the art and story flow nicely.

She gave up all the land except Molterre, the stepmother gave her that piece of land as it was infested with monsters intending to leave her worthless.
