I think a good portion of people are bothered by sexual molestation/assault and the way author uses Yuri to make it seem okay/funny ["it's okay to grope and molest a girl, if a girl does it!" and not just upset because it has Yuri [not to say there isn't some homophobia going on around here].

Also, reason why some folks were quick in being upset with "1 chapter of yuri" is this trope of yuri sexual molestation is used by other manga authors for fan service/comedy effect. It's not rare for it to be use often by manga authors.

I think if the author wrote this yuri plot point without the sexual molestation/assault, you wouldn't see so many folks upset and in fact doing the opposite, they would be enjoying it with the yuri stuff.

So yeah, I think it would be a mistake to write off everyone with criticism for this chapter as homophobic to be honest.

The whole manga is about Kamo being molested by Katabami though (god I wish that were me). Komaki is just doing the same thing as her sister (though Komaki is so hard to deal with as a fox spirit that even Katabami struggles with her).

I've noticed it a lot recently. There are these people that have this insane meltdown every time there is a whiff of yuri in a non-yuri manga. It makes me wonder how they got to this point when it's such a common trope in romcoms. Which is what makes me think they have probably only been reading manga for like week so normal tropes to other people trigger the response you are seeing in these comments.

Some examples I can think of recently:

Yowa Yowa Sensei

Both introduced minor yuri characters that don't affect the story at all and these lunatics lose their fucking minds over it. I seriously don't understand what kind of mentality you would have to have for that to happen to you

"Sexual molestation/assault" you could have just said "I learned about manga during covid and want to project my western sensibilities taught to me by hollywood on Japanese tropes that have been around for decades". Japanese entertainment is clearly not for you. Since you want sanitized garbage made to appeal to brain damaged zoomers, you should probably just watch some Western cartoons or whatever is on netflix. It would fit your world view better than something obviously not made with you in mind.

Gatekeeping is probably one of the stupidest things that exist. Only reason people gatekeep is because it makes them feel more special. If you actually enjoy and likes something, gatekeeping it is about as unreasonable as it gets. Things you enjoy and are passionate about are to be shared, not to be kept for yourself.
I've been on /a/ for a couple of decades, and the gatekeeping there is probably some of the most idiotic thing in that place. But then again a lot of people on /a/ are elitistic man children that thinks their hobby made them special or something.

Katabami is the eldest and she was shown with the MC in their childhood, unless you're saying katabami is already an adult fox grooming a kid. Regardless even if you cut out that part of the argument that the sister is a minor, point is that it was stalking and sexual assault on the sister's part
