As someone who plays (Alto) Saxophone and has played for 11 years, CALLUSES? EXCUSE ME? HOW MUCH ARE YOU PLAYING? HAVE I BEEN PLAYING WRONG?
Japanese people have as sensitive hands as they are sensitive to rain themselves, or sleeping with the AC on or at a kotatsu. They do something even remotely like that, and they get medical issues. Though it's not as bad as falling asleep on a desk, since that's a 50% chance of death and getting isekaied.

Still, calluses? The buttons of a saxophone are so smooth, you are sooner to wear out the buttons before you EVER get calluses.

It's not any worse than any of the other exaggerated things I mentioned.

Some instruments can give you calluses, though. Like string instruments, if you use your fingers directly. Not so much for button pushing. Since then every typist and internet warrior would get calluses.

Oh, trust me I know some instruments can give calluses. Which is why I'm confused, why make it a saxophone?

Author with no clue as usual? It's like 95% of all tactics in battle scenes and 100% of all Iaido techniques. Complete nonsense.

Fair enough. It still drives me insane. Now I know how those sword YouTubers always talking about how horrid reverse grip is and how Hollywood makes unrealistic sword fights feel.

Reverse grip is situationally good for daggers, and that situation is when you get within grappling distance.
