That wealth gap is a major theme in the books. Scarlet and Luna are both from noble families.
The only good thing from this chapter was those 2-3 panels where we get a bit of backstory from MC reincarnation (most likely he got f'd by the god)
we got a good lore drop about MC tho.
Sei chose the carrier job, and chose to reincarnate instead of being teleported. The god basically said 'No-one has chosen the Carrier job before, this will be amusing'. Sei had to do a number of stat corrections for Carrier, so it was quite apparent it was a bad class (he could have chosen Hero and stuff, but figured those would place expectations on him.)

In the book Anita didn't talk about god and wasn't so pushy.

Echilada, thanks for the chapter, there are some errors:
On page 5, "You weren't to make a move on a sleeping mate" > Weren't going to
On page 20: "If anyone comes, I'll roast them to crisp!" > roast them to a crisp!

Fan service and sex in the next chapters. Back and forth and back and forth from one scene then to the next.

It's such a strange adaptation. At the very beginning of the novel, he chose the Carrier himself to have an inventory (besides the Carrier, only higt grade Mages have one, but it's much smaller). The god was happy with his choice. Maybe it's just my impression, but God was happy as if his work was praised - that this profession is not useless. In doing so, MC reinforced the initial characteristics of the Carrier - his profession is stronger than the default Carrier other people have.
Later there were moments when he regretted his choice, but it did not become a leitmotif, he raises the level very quickly and is strong enough (and has saved a lot of money).
It was a short conversation with Anita in general - he is used to renting girls for money. Well, there also wasn't a conspiracy.

I'm annoyed that Sei is like my friends are in danger I need to check on them. Then Anita shows up and after he rejects her advances presumably to go check on the the girls or rock, he backtracks because Anita challenges him because of her class status. I mean check on the girls then show Anita your.

The chapter makes it feel like MC was choosing something else and then the isekai god forced him ot select the carrier class, but comments here say in the novel MC choose it himself, I could understand if the god had a evil grin knowing the implications, but it seems like 2 different stories, that could , Web novel, light Novel and manga adaptations tend to have differneces.

i mean, this could be a whole "speaking in god's name" rather than "speaking the will of god", aka using god's name for personal benefit (by saying god hates carriers even if that may not be true)

So, a lot to say on the manga and novel in general. Please excuse my dumping here. No spoilers, of course.

I had a chance to catch up with the novel to this volume. I think it was a good idea to jump to this point in the story, because this is where it feels the major story is happening. Not that the other story didn’t have some interesting lore, but I think the flashback route is a good way to go about it.

I’ve compared it to Rurouni Kenshin in the past. In a way you know wild shit went down previously, but it’s even better to deal with the him of now and unravel the mystery. I also like how the manga has unique features and characters (for better or worse), that adds a bit more depth to the story. Also, everyone seems to be drawn incredibly sly and a bit malicious. I’ll allow it for the PLOT(S)!

Although, one thing that kind of bothers me from the novel is the lack of creativity with his abilities. Granted, I know he just got them and isn’t super OP, but there should be a dozen ways to make up for his profession. I think the manga is going the route of him using it in different ways, so that’s good at least.

Still, there’s also a startling lack of projectile usage in both. Not that I want another gun toting MC in isekai land, but where are the crossbows and such? Spiked logs you can drop on enemies from above? Use of wire to go with the throwing knives??

All that aside, I am looking forward to more manga chapters, and how the characters will end up. Also with how he’s going to handle the story from the novel to the manga. Will it change up, or keep a Jack Reacher, new adventure every volume format?

tldr: DAMN Luna got some tig ‘ole bitties!

I think he figured that there were enough people around that he could respons if something went down. Those last panels are concerning though.

No, it’s about the same across the board. The MC saw the benefits of being a porter, and picked that to make his life easier. If the “god” was at fault in any way, it’s because he
was a dick and didn’t let him know that it was considered the worst profession, and that he’d be looked down upon by everyone.
Still, I would have picked porter too. There’s so much potential that, and seems way better than a shitty warrior, knight, or mage.
