So, a lot to say on the manga and novel in general. Please excuse my dumping here. No spoilers, of course.
I had a chance to catch up with the novel to this volume. I think it was a good idea to jump to this point in the story, because this is where it feels the major story is happening. Not that the other story didn’t have some interesting lore, but I think the flashback route is a good way to go about it.
I’ve compared it to Rurouni Kenshin in the past. In a way you know wild shit went down previously, but it’s even better to deal with the him of now and unravel the mystery. I also like how the manga has unique features and characters (for better or worse), that adds a bit more depth to the story. Also, everyone seems to be drawn incredibly sly and a bit malicious. I’ll allow it for the PLOT(S)!
Although, one thing that kind of bothers me from the novel is the lack of creativity with his abilities. Granted, I know he just got them and isn’t super OP, but there should be a dozen ways to make up for his profession. I think the manga is going the route of him using it in different ways, so that’s good at least.
Still, there’s also a startling lack of projectile usage in both. Not that I want another gun toting MC in isekai land, but where are the crossbows and such? Spiked logs you can drop on enemies from above? Use of wire to go with the throwing knives??
All that aside, I am looking forward to more manga chapters, and how the characters will end up. Also with how he’s going to handle the story from the novel to the manga. Will it change up, or keep a Jack Reacher, new adventure every volume format?
tldr: DAMN Luna got some tig ‘ole bitties!
